Potters
Featured Potters
The incredible event that Austin Empty Bowl has become is due to the efforts of all the wonderful, hard-working volunteers. We are delighted to call out some of the potters who have really gone the extra mile this year!
Nancy Hallmark
Nancy has long been one of many volunteer “staples” on the AEBP team. Every year Nancy donates hundreds of gorgeous, hand painted, majolica bowls to the Austin Empty Bowl Project. She has also (again) been instrumental in coordinating the Silent Auction preparations and getting all those incredible auction items up front and center, and ready for the auction to go live.
Michele Simpson
For yet another year, Michele has donated over 100 gorgeous bowls to the event! Her knack for artful design is evident not only from her gorgeous pottery creations, but also her lovely floral designs (created from beauties plucked from her very own garden).
Ed Triece
Ed has been an AEBP volunteer mainstay for eons and very generous bowl & auction donor year after year. He is now one of our fearless leaders of the AEBP volunteer pack! Add to all the duties Ed juggles as one of the current AEBP co-directors, he also has managed to participate in almost every single bowl-a-thon that the clay studios across town have held for this year’s event. We reckon his bowl count for this year is well over 100!
Tracy Thomas
Another long-time supporter of AEBP, Tracy jumped fully onboard when we were recruiting hard in 2024 for the perfect “Soup Wrangler” who could charm all the best ATX restaurants into donating soup! She has led the team again this year to secure many gallons of soup (hundreds actually!).
Anne Nelson
An AEBP volunteer mainstay for many years, Anne is a crucial part of our core volunteer team. She has become our ringmaster of the volunteer sign-up and check-in circus and has led our crew of bowl pick-up volunteers and bowl count tallying. There’s a lot of bowls moving across ATX during these months leading up to the big event weekend!
Hillary Bielstein
Hillary is the founder and owner of Rosa Pottery Studio, a young clay studio in ATX that is experiencing great success. Hillary signed Rosa Pottery on with a big bowl donation commitment for this year’s event and they’ve exceeded their expectations. Thank you, Team Rosa Pottery!
