Volunteering Day Of
Volunteer sign ups begin in the fall. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and willing to spend at least two hours working at the event.
Must wear closed toe shoes.
AEBP welcomes bowl donations from potters and pottery students.
Specifications: Bowls must be ceramic, food-safe glazed bowls that will hold 2 cups of liquid. Bowls should not have any rough edges or rough or sharp spots. The interior of the bowls should be completely glazed with no pinholes or crevices that could harbor bacteria.
Boxing, Labeling and Drop off: Please wrap and box your bowls with your name and organization and number of bowls clearly marked on the lid of the box. You may drop off your boxes through the Friday before the event at Ceramics Bayou, Austin Pottery Studio & Gallery or Ceramics-N-More (Cedar Park). Please check their websites for directions and hours. Bowls may also be dropped off at the Central Texas Food Bank, 6500 Metropolis Drive from noon to 4:00 the day before the event.

For those of you who are not potters or pottery students or don’t have access to a clay studio but would like to donate a bowl, there are opportunities to hand decorate a ceramic bowl and have it donated to the event.

Friends of the Austin Empty Bowl Project
Individuals who would like to sponsor AEBP can do so by becoming a “Friend of the Austin Empty Bowl Project.” For $100/year “Friends” receive a ticket to the Preview Party, a t-shirt, and their name in the program and on our website. Businesses large and small are invited to become sponsors of the Austin Empty Bowl Project. We have a variety of sponsorship levels from the “cauldron” to the “soup spoon” and they come with a range of privileges including bowl decorating parties, preview party tickets, publicity and of course being a part of one of Austin’s favorite events.
